Is a change management consultant, thought leader, and strategist who specializes in human-centered leadership and design. He possesses extensive experience across several domains from higher ed. and academic research to business, nonprofits, advertising, tech, and entertainment. He holds a Ph.D. in American literature from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University. Alex began his career in academia, where his research focused on the intersection of race, class, and the American Dream during the Progressive Era. As a writing specialist, he worked with scholars ranging from Ecology and Environmental Biology to Education and History. After leaving academia, he collaborated with several mission-driven nonprofits, including Fisskit, a media-literacy app; State Matters, a civics education platform; and Public Narrative, a communication consultancy for nonprofits. He eventually landed at Jell Creative where he served as a brand strategist, leading research, discovery, creative design, and execution for a number of clients including cybersecurity institution, SANS institute and the U.S. Department of Energy. Following his period in branding, Alex became managing editor of Insigniam Quarterly, a business thought leadership magazine. He featured interviews with a number of Fortune-500 executives in his time at the magazine, including U.S. Bank’s Kate Quinn, Fortune CEO Alan Murray, and former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Alex applied the wisdom he gleaned from these top executives as well as years of experience in research and design to his next role in management consulting. He specializes in change management, organizational psychology, leadership consulting, and people advising. His years as an educator and mentor inform his practice in advising, behavioral support, and L&D. From the design world, he’s developed potent methods to capture attention, persuade audiences, and motivate people. And with his background in editing, writing, and narrative, he knows how to approach every novel challenge with grounded questions and creative thinking.
